Admission requirements
Due to the rigorous intellectual demands of the PhD programme, we look for applicants with evidence of a high level of scholastic ability in both quantitative and qualitative skills. Each year, about 10 to 15 of the finest applicants are admitted to the programme.
Pre-requisites for application to the PhD programme:
- A good Bachelor's or Master's degree. We will consider your academic records and performance of your undergraduate and graduate studies if any.
- Working experience is not compulsory.
- A good GMAT or GRE score (taken within 5 years).* This is mandatory.
- A good IELTS or TOEFL score (taken within 2 years).* This is mandatory if English was not the medium of instruction at tertiary level.
- Outstanding intellectual ability and motivation.
- Our institution code is V24-ZV-92 for GMAT, 0291 for GRE and 0138-99 for TOEFL.
- The test(s) must be taken within the stipulated period from the date of application.
Selection
The PhD committee, including the Director (Research & PhD Programme) and Heads of Division, will select you based on your intellectual ability and motivation.
Besides your past academic performance (mentioned above), the committee will also look at your statement of objectives, research interest and your letters of reference.
If you are short-listed, we will invite you for an interview to ascertain that the PhD programme is suited for you. The interview takes place between January and March.
