Comprehensive examination (written)
With the completion of the coursework, students will take the comprehensive examination.
The comprehensive exam is an internal qualifying exam developed and administered by the School’s respective divisions of specialisation.
It assesses students’ higher order thinking abilities, including their ability to interpret, apply and synthesise what they have learnt during their coursework in their chosen specialisation.
Together with the confirmation (oral) examination, the comprehensive exam will be used to confirm the PhD candidacy of students. The minimum GPA required is 3.50.
